Saturday 13th September - Friday 14th November 2014
To commemorate the centenary of the beginning of World War 1, The World of Glass exhibits a collection of posters used as propaganda to enlist, save food , help the war effort and much more. The collection is part of the St. Helens Councils archive and this is a once in a lifetime chance to see them on display together.
When you arrive you'll hear our latest soundscape "The Fallen". This is an inspirational piece by Mark Peel using sounds, music and vocals from WW1 - this moving piece will lead you into our biggest exhibition of the Year.
The exhibition continues with a reflective timeline of the four years at war and the circumstances which led to the "war which will end all wars".
On the mezzanine will be a collection of war artefacts from the collection and on loan from the general public giving and insight to lives of those who were part of this conflict.
