Directions to The World of GlassEnhance the National Curriculum Key Stages 1 & 2 with a school trip to The World of Glass. The admission price for a school visit includes:

 
  • Live Glassblowing demonstrations with commentary especially targeted to the age of the children will enhance your education visit

  • Glass Revolution Special Effects film show about the history of glass and the amazing impact it has had on our everyday lives

  • A visit to the Grade II* Listed Victorian Glass Furnace and its labyrinth or underground tunnels

  • Interactive Gallery of inspiring displays of glass from Ancient Egypt until the present day

  • Local History Gallery about the industries of St Helens, including a reconstructed Victorian Schoolroom and Glassworker's parlour

  • Mirror Maze and Practical Glass Magic area, where pupils can explore the wonders of colour, light, reflection and other optical illusions

  • Gallery Trails (available prior to your visit for photocopying)

To make the most of your visit you will need to allow at least 2 hours. A room can be made available for packed lunches and the Kaleidoscope Café is able to offer reasonably priced lunchboxes and children's hot meals.

The maximum number of children that can be catered for on an activity day is 75. To allow all schools to participate there is no minimum number.
