.... and the winner is .... |
February 26th + 27th proved to be the highlight of the cultural year in St. Helens. The two glittering events, attended by 350 guests where held at the Park Inn Hotel in St. Helens and recognised the achievement of the 26 winners.
From achievements in sport, heritage and art the winners form a fantastic spectrum of the amazing talent in St. Helens.
"These awards are particularly special as we design and make them" says Vicki Beech one of The World of Glass resident glassblowers "the design of lime green and black follows the theme of the events evening and add a nice contemporary twist"
Its always great to see people acknowledged for their achievements but one in particular carries special resonance for The World of Glass.
"Paul Cousins exhibited here in 2009 and his show was very successful, so successful that we have people still enquiring about his work" commented Ron Helsby, Executive Director
"so its particularly apt that he won the award for his services to culture"
The World of Glass would like offer congratulations to all the winners and nominees of this years culture awards 2010.
